In recent years there has been a lot of interest in organic food all over the years and people have been experimenting with a large varietiy of recipies to use organic grains.
In India, we have been traditionally eating these healthy grains for centuries, and recipes have eveolved over time. In the last 50 years however, many of these have faded from our collective memory, specially in urban India, since our life styles and eating habits have changed. Farmers stopped growing several food grains like foxtail millets and large numbers of us are switching over totally to more refined and packaged food grains that are less nutritious and less tasty.
In this section we have collected some traditional recipes from our part of India, ie Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. Try them and write to tell us what you think.
